Denny the Faerie Keeper whose real name is Dent had lived with the Faeshae
Faeries in the Neverlands of Beyond until one day when they came into contact
with The Lorekeeper of Loerjaan Talen_Greystone. This is the story of those
events that took place during that time which would see them become protected
folk of the Loerjaan. Talen_Greystone had only hours before sat at the head of
the Council of Elders and was in the Neverlands on a quest of great importance.
He had travelled over many rugged miles and through lots of fields full of
wonderful flowers and trees with birds singing joyfully almost attuned to his
swaying movement as he walked. Now while crossing a small creek just over the
border he became aware of the presence of a large amount of very small folk sort
of hovering some three feet above the ground mostly all talking in little
groups. Such an oddity he did not remember having come across before now. The
spectacle really was quite remarkable to behold and intrigued his mind
distracting him from his current purpose.
Being of a gentile and caring nature he stooped down to one knee and asked them
what all the ruckus was about that would make such timid folk so very angry. The
fanning of wings seemed to stir the air and a vibrating sensation was felt all
around, listening intently Talen soon discovered the reason for all the fuss.
Some very nasty invaders had recently moved into the woods not far from the
creek. Well very quickly Talen discovered that these intruders were known as
Baaltar Baer’s seven-foot creatures, human in shape but covered in hair similar
to a large bear. A very unruly bunch of unsavoury characters they are it is said
bully like to anything smaller or weaker than themselves. They had since been
causing havoc and turmoil amongst the current inhabitants the Faeshae Faeries
Woodland home.
So it was that the gathering was taking place in the large green meadow beside
the creek to discuss measures that needed to be taken in order to solve the
crisis. These happenings had been taking place for so long that the situation
had become intolerable to the little folk. Now although it was a terrible thing
to contemplate, moving to another safer place was upmost on the agenda of the
meeting. However the very problem was where could the go?
This land had belonged to generations of Faeshae and heartbreaking as it was the
signs of the great evil seemed to be appearing all over the Neverlands of Beyond
of late. Talen could well sense the pain and sorrow amongst the wee folk all
around him and as he thought and his mind centred the more the idea began to
form of a solution to this dilemma. The very spot that they could relocate to
was not by chance now in Talen’s mind.
Close to the Raalfendoer Castle and even closer to the home of Gaalfendal
Guardian of the Spirits, the Forrendoen Forest was the very place such little
folk as these would fit into the Loerjaan community. Talen had for years had the
feeling often supported by his wife Talei that the Forest needed something
special to complete the placing within the Realm. Thinking over the task he
still had to perform and the urgent need to guide the Faeshae Faeries to their
new destiny he decided that he must first finished his current quest, but of
course he would have to take care to guard them until his return. He went over
his plans in his mind making sure that he had not forgotten any detail. He would
return to Loerjaan with them and take them to the special place he had in mind
where they could settle.
If they were happy then they could add their special attributes to the Realm of
Loerjaan. Now as you know Talen_Greystone was indeed on a matter of great
importance for the Elders of Loerjaan so very quickly he asked that the Faeshae
wait in relative safety on the opposite side of the creek. He had a sensing of
safety and was sure that this was the right way to handle the situation. In any
event Baaltar Baer’s are known to be afraid of water so it was reasonable to
presume that they would not cross the creek as one had to wade through the creek
bed in order to reach from one side to the other.
Talen knew that he would have to make the necessary preparations so he stood
still momentarily and calming himself trancelike he closed his eyes and then
began to hum a soft tune of ancient sounding music and song a melodious style of
language called Halraldic. Soon a few of the Messengers of Belluundoon
Butterflies appeared. Magnificent in their regal colours of Blues, Reds, Yellows
and Greens they hovered near the head of Talen. He conferred with them in this
fashion for some time with the Belluundoon Butterflies instructing them to stay
close to the Faeshae Fairies until his return and if need be to warn him as soon
as possible in the usual manner.
Thus satisfied he proceeded on his way to complete his original task. Of course
that is the beginning of another tale not to be revealed here but it was
fortunate that on this day the Elders had sent him to the Neverlands of Beyond.
Some of the Old folk would say it was fate others might say otherwise but then
Talei the wife of Talen had that very morning sensed from her special powers the
movements in the Realm. Always aware of disturbances that unbalance Raal she had
mention to her husband that something of great importance would occur that day
and that he should pay special heed to any unusual occurrence.
Now it is known that this days events were destined to occur for it is written
in the Book of Biillchene that the little folk of winged happiness will travel
from the land of Beyond and settle in the Forrendoen Forest of Loerjaan. So it
came to pass that the Faeshae Faeries moved to the Forrendoen Forest and still
live there to this very day. Tales have been told that if you listen very
carefully as you pass the Forest you may here the vibrating fanning of the many
wings and the soft laughing and jovial exuberance revealed in the lusty singing
that emanates it would seem almost from the very trunks of the trees of this
magical forest.
A strange aura of light often can be seen illuminating the leaves of the
branches in an eerie glow of yellows and greens, some say it comes from the
reflections of the silvery slippers that the Faeshae Faeries are known to wear
on their feet. The Faeshae Faeries added the special features of their very
nature to the overall conscious of Loerjaan ensuring in a small way the safety
and security of this magical realm.
Many tales are hewn from the secrets of the Forrendoen Forest but they shall be
retold another day. Well as any of you will know being that in order for you to
be reading this story you must indeed be truebelievers, that anything is
possible in the land of the Folk of Old and often it does not take much to see
the reality in the innocence and peace of the Realm…
